I just need to post about all the good self-care stuff I managed this weekend, so I can look at it when I am having trouble remembering how to do self-care. This weekend was like the extreme sport version.

--I processed the cat situation and the emotions around it with my Nestmates, and we got to a really good place.
--I pre-screened for health insurance.
--I called to get a counselling referral.
--I paid my rent, electric, and internet bills, and paid for my new binders.
--I planned meals for the week.
--I went grocery shopping, which turned into an epic endurance test with a really heavy backpack, and I hauled it all home under my own power.
--I cleaned the cat's box and dishes.
--I made my bed.
--I did an epic amount of laundry.
--I swept my room.
--I went to the library.
--I scheduled upcoming budgeting/administrative tasks.
--I have eaten reasonably well.
--I have slept reasonably well.
--I have had (admittedly limited) social time.

In conclusion, I win.

Hello! We are moving out of NYC this Friday! Unless an apartment manifests magically by Tuesday, we will be putting everything in storage and staying with Cadence's folks for a bit. In other news, I have a phone interview on Thursday that I am very excited about. More on that as it progresses.

In other other news, the cat has learned how to play fetch.

That is all.

I was evicted, or nearly. The drama went down, for sure. I was running scared, and trying to move, and shoving things in boxes, and trying to find a place to leave Cleo. I was dealing with Josh, and I had just been laid off, and I pretty much felt like I'd never be safe again.

Fast forward to today. I have a good job that's not going anywhere. I'm about to move again, this weekend, to a gorgeous apartment of my own, with my fiancee, in a beautiful neighborhood in this wonderful city. Although I haven't gotten fully together financially yet, I'm cleaning things up quickly. My transition has been moving forward by leaps and bounds. I've made new friends and caught up with old ones. I'm learning to live on my own, without my grandmom to hold things together in the family or my dad to give advice. I feel like I have aged ten years in this one.

And on a less philosophical note, I would be really happy if we could stay in the same apartment for, like, five years now. Holy crap, am I tired of moving.

Lots of things. --My name change is coming out in the paper on Wednesday. --I'm 25. --Cadence and I found and applied for and got a beautiful apartment in Bay Ridge, to move in April 15. --Cadence and I are officially engaged. Like, with a ring and all, although it isn't on her finger just yet. Can I just say I love my life? 'Cause I do.

Busy busy weekend, full of potential. Busy busy week, with an empty apartment at the end. . .
I like that girl, you know the one. Yeah.

The fucking fire alarm went off at 3:30 this morning. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR OWWIE OWWIE OWW.
The apartment I saw yesterday is too far away, so back to the drawing board on that. Meanwhile, I would like a clean house by the end of the day, and I have decided to start with the living room, so it'll get done.
Therapy has been good lately, but I don't really want to do anything anymore.
I came out to my manager, and that went well, so I'm going to start disclosing to colleagues next week.
I'm tired.

Motivation to get living room clean: entire Cowboy Bebop series on DVD. Hopefully the room will be done before I run out of episodes.

I have found an accessible apartment! And I get to sign off on it next week! And I'll have a pretty awesome roommate, even if it isn't my Wondertwin. (I love you, Wondertwin! I'll miss you!) Wow, happy apartment-y joy.
Details forthcoming, and a party of housewarming will be planned when I actually move in (in May sometime).

In other news, the Vagina Monologues are this weekend and everyone should come. Friday the 16th at 8 p.m. abd Saturday the 17th at 2 p.m. Get there early, tickets are sold at the door and various orgs are tabling. It's in Chapin (at MHC) and tickets are $5.
